Found this great video of fingerstyle acoustic guitarist Jeff Williams uses this Awesome “Flat Tapping” technique which sounds amazing. The production sound is also pretty extraordinary, just crystal clear and sounds brilliant thru my headphones…
From his bio:
Jeff Williams is one less than a dozen guitarist ON EARTH who compose using this new approach to the acoustic guitar called “Acoustic Flat Tapping“. In this style the guitar is laid FLAT and played from above with both hands “like a piano“.
Really good stuff,

What is finger tapping? Is this the same with plucking?
With his experiences from many different genres of music including Flamenco , Jazz ,Rock ,Bluegrass, Fingerstyle and Classical and combining elements of exotic and percussion instruments he has broadened the perceived boundaries of the art of acoustic guitar forever.
