Blues Guitarist Showmi aka Dusty Broom from Tokyo, Japan has got to be one of my favorite blues guitarists to watch. He is one of those guitar players who really get into their playing.

He really lets his Telecaster wail and plays a mean slide guitar as well. I found this awesome post on his myspace blog:

I am a Japanese.
Why I sing the blues?

My father was a public employee.
Mother was a bus guide.
I was born in the house of middle class people and was brought up without any inconvenience.

Why I sing the blues?

I always think.
Will not I enter the place where I must not enter with my shoes on?
I respect American culture.
And I like American people.
But, will I be personality liked by an American?

I do work to repair the carpet of the institution of Yokota Air Force Base.
I meet Aircraftman every day.
They are very openhearted and say hello whenever they meet.
But I hit the language barrier today when I talked with one Aircraftman and seem to have let you worsen embarrassment and a feeling.

I was depressed.

Even if environment and the countries where we were brought up are different, I think that the feelings are the same.
However, unfortunately there is not a method to understand even if there is the person of the thought same as me.

I think every day.

If there are a friend in the Internet and an encountering reality, will it be really with a friend?
I love people. You know, I want to be loved.
I think the blues to be the love that is not satisfied.
I do not know what the living of the ghetto is.
I have not taken the racial discrimination either.
However, I feel the love that is not satisfied every day.

The blues is sad song.
Very very sad song.
I want to feel the blues by singing.
Both my and your having the same feelings with the same human being.
And I want to share it.
The same feelings.
At the moment when I had them, it is satisfied very much.
I sing about the love that is not satisfied, and it is satisfied by sharing it.
And both I and you become happy.

Because, I sing the blues.
